Stand Firm!

Jeff Jennings | 1 Peter 5:5-14 | 9/1/2013

Peter knows how to say farewell. In the closing of his letter he brings us full circle again, pointing our eyes to the future calling of eternal glory to give us the hope to stand firm today. Join us as we wrap up, Future Promise, Present Hope.

A Call to Humility

Jeff Jennings | 1 Peter 5:1-5 | 8/25/2013

From the Chief Shepherd, to the under-shepherd, to the sheep, humility is to be the proper attire worn by God’s people. However, each and every one of us knows that we struggle in pride against truly accepting the grace of God. Peter wants to show us the way, the way to the unfading crown of glory. Join us for A Call to Humility.

Sharing in Sufferings

Jeff Jennings | 1 Peter 4:12-19 | 8/18/2013

For those that bear the name of Christ we can be certain that association with that name will cause a reaction in others.  Whether it is curiosity or persecution,  Peter gives us the key to joy in the midst of the furnace: sharing in Christ’s sufferings.

The New Purpose & New Life

Jeff Jennings | 1 Peter 4:1-11 | 8/11/2013

This Sunday Peter is calling us to a true and very clear picture of reality with the purpose of transforming our lives and transforming the church. Death, judgment, the consummation of God’s redeeming plan and our role in it flow from God’s
heart, to Peter’s pen, to our ears this Sunday. Join us for The New Purpose & New Life.

The Hope That Is In You

Jeff Jennings | 1 Peter 3:8-22 | 8/4/2013

Again we remember that Peter is writing to those who are in the midst of incredible suffering and persecution. All the while he calls them to bless others, speak the gospel, and sanctify the Lord in their hearts. Can we do this too? The victory of Christ says we can and we must.

Freed to Follow His Footsteps

Jeff Jennings | 1 Peter 2:21-3:7 | 7/28/2013

Jesus said in John 10:11, “the good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.” Peter is calling us, as God has called us, to follow in the steps of our true and good Shepherd. This week we will be following his atoning example into the sphere of marriage, combating the natural fear that takes hold of our hearts, when we consider the call to surrender our life to the “other.”

Freed To Serve

Jeff jennings | 1 Peter 2:11-20 | 7/14/2013

Peter has just spent many verses proclaiming a great salvation to us, and stressing our honored position as God’s people. This was preparatory work,  for the coming weeks, to assure us of our security so that we would be freed to serve, freed to suffer, freed to glorify God as living sacrifices- All to the praise and glory of God.

Living Stones

Jeff Jennings | 1 Peter 2:4-10 | 7/7/2013

Jesus Christ is the living stone and the One who has risen from the dead. He is the cornerstone of the church. But Peter tells us, this church isn’t a building; it is comprised of the special people of God, other living stones, who live to proclaim His excellencies!

Sermon Title: A Pillar of Rich Grace

Jeff Jennings | 1 Peter 1:13-2:3 | 6/30/2013

Being born again into the new family of God means loving and living for the same things that our Holy Father does. This Sunday we will examine the holiness of God, the redemption it necessitated, and the new heart of love He creates in
every believer.

A Pillar of Hope in Christ

Jeff Jennings | 1 Peter 1:6-12 | 6/23/2013

Faith in who God is and what He has said and done is the fuel that propels and strengthens us in the midst of the fiery furnace of trials. This Sunday we will see that a faith that weathers the storm emerges brighter and more brilliant than the most precious of metals, and brings praise and honor to the name of Christ Jesus our Lord.

A Pillar of Hopeful Inheritance

Jeff jennings | 1 Peter 1:3-5 | 6/16/2013

As Peter blesses God in 1:3, so too will we bless God as we look at “His great mercy.” This mercy is the basis and motive behind all God has accomplished for His people: the resurrection, our new birth, and a future inheritance. We will look to the past and the future to find a “Pillar of Hopeful Inheritance” in the present.

A Pillar of Certain Salvation

Jeff Jennings | 1 Peter 1:1-2 | 6/9/2013

"From the heart of a pastor, the Apostle Peter, comes his letter to the hearts of those going through the furnace of suffering. What we see is that there was future promise that lifted them in present hope. This Sunday we will be lifted up and bolstered by our message entitled, “A Pillar of Certain Salvation.”
