October 31, 2017, marked the 500th Anniversary of the start of the Protestant Reformation when Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door the castle church at Wittenberg.  Sola Scriptura or Scripture Alone was the first of 5 battle cries of the Reformation.  By Sola Scriptura the Reformers were asserting that the Bible is our final and trustworthy authority for the Christian’s faith and life, not the Pope and not the Roman Catholic Church.
